For years in a row, the pharmaceutical sector has been the most attractive sector in Belgium. Then the applications are flooding in, right? Wrong. Organon was struggling to attract enough right profiles. We made the diagnosis and provided the remedy. And then even went a few steps further.
Organon (formerly MSD) in Heist-op-den-Berg is an international pharmaceutical company with more than 900 employees. They offer about a hundred different drugs and products for women and produce about 160 million of them a year.
Organon's offer is certainly worthy of mention. An international company where you can develop yourself and make a difference for patients worldwide, with no traffic jams, a competitive salary, 41 vacation days, hospitalization and group insurance, meal vouchers and above all, a particularly pleasant working environment. An offer you can't refuse? Apparently so ...
Why didn't the inflow succeed? Our analysis showed that previous recruitment campaigns did not present Organon's offer clearly. Moreover, we encountered quite a few barriers that hindered the application process.
We first determined a clear core message and wrote an uncomplicated recruitment story in line with international guidelines. In addition, we selected relevant visuals from Organon's image bank. These elements formed the recognizable common thread throughout the recruitment initiatives.
We also rewrote job ads to make them easier to find in search engines and quicker to scan for mobile readers. On the new and attractive campaign site, we delivered the recruitment story with a clear focus on easy application.
With all elements in top condition, the campaign could begin. Via sponsored job postings on Indeed, we quickly convinced the first candidates. We supported this with a remarkable ad in De Zondag which reached our target group en masse. Finally, our performance consultants set up a successful Facebook campaign resulting in no less than 71 candidates.
For onboarding their employees, Organon had a welcome brochure. But it was in urgent need of renewal. Together we mapped out the information needs and expectations of new employees. Then we created a modern design according to the corporate identity. Both the design and the content focus on diversity and female health.
With a clear layout, concise information about all departments and sufficient variety between text and images, the welcome brochure invites new employees to get to know Organon better. The brochure was such a great success that we were immediately asked to develop a variant for potential candidates at job fairs.
Organon also wanted to turn new employees into brand ambassadors. So they asked us to bring their headline "Make a difference" and their company values to life internally. We went out with a photographer to ask employees in different departments and functions what that headline and values mean to them.
These interviews yielded 18 authentic testimonials, each with a short quote and accompanying copy. We made images of these testimonials to hang up all over the site. They were also disseminated on social media, with the same goal that started our collaboration: attracting new employees.
