With more than 4,500 employees, Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg (ZOL) is striving for a future in which quality care, cooperation and the patient are even more central. To launch this internally, they asked us for a concept and corresponding actions. A complex operation, which we executed meticulously.
We developed a two-year communication plan with Vol voor ZOL as the umbrella concept. In the first phase, we focused on communicating the policy to employees through a creative combination of different channels. Top of the list? A video from the perspective of employees and patients, showing exactly what Vol voor ZOL means.
We also poured the policy into a manifesto. This booklet was personally delivered to all employees. We also reflected the six core objectives from this manifesto in the hospital, with catchy quotes and graffiti drawings on the walls of the staff corridors.
The last action in the sequence was a 6-part podcast series. In each episode we zoom in on 1 core objective, together with a board member, an employee and a well-known Fleming or entrepreneur who has a connection with the theme. The result is an engaging mix of critical questions, clear answers and new insights.
In the second phase, we want to not only inform but also involve the ZOL team. For example, several employees will have the opportunity to spend a day in the shoes of a patient or colleague. We will end the year with a "Vol voor ZOL" award show. You see: we too are going Vol voor ZOL.
