Nelissen Steenfabrieken is a name solid as a rock: strong, recognisable and firmly rooted in the Belgian building landscape. Behind the scenes, the family business continues to build a warm, welcoming workplace, carried by a strong culture and a distinct identity. Thanks to Cartel Works, the outside world gets a glimpse of the internal culture of Nelissen.
Cartel Agency developed Nelissen’s new corporate website. Cartel Works made sure that the employer branding was fully integrated into the new website. Not a page with a list of open positions as an afterthought, but a coherent story that emerges naturally from Nelissen’s brand identity.
Visitors to the renewed ‘Working at Nelissen’ page find themselves immersed in the culture, the values and personal stories. The entire page radiates authenticity, trust, and enthusiasm: from the Nelissen DNA and the warm company culture to the clear overview of open positions.
The starting point of the ‘Working at’ page is not the open positions, but the people. That is the reason we decided to root the employer brand in the identity of the company, considering two distinct types of visitors. On the one hand, people who know the company and want to apply for a job, and on the other hand people who still need to be convinced. These principles were translated to Nelissen’s website with user-friendly navigation, warm visuals, familiar language and a strong focus on culture and pride.
At Cartel Works, we believe that employer branding doesn’t start with a job opening. That’s why we made the site’s infrastructure future-proof: SEO-friendly, technically optimised for job indexing, and ready for targeted campaigns. For example, every vacancy is automatically published on Indeed and other job platforms, preventing double work and frustration.
Based on several urgent job openings, we rolled out a first targeted recruiting campaign through LinkedIn and Indeed. We highlighted the unique strengths of Nelissen as an employer and of the renewed digital flow. Thanks to the new ‘Working at’ page, we noticed that candidates clicked through more easily and dropped off less frequently.
